LONG RANGE PLANNING COMMITTEE
What is a Long Range Planning Committee?
A recommendation to go out for a bond comes from the Long Range Planning Committee.
The purpose of the Long Range Planning Committee is to provide future planning to manage district growth, facility needs, and make recommendations after having studied current facilities, educational programs, student population trends, and other relevant data.
The goal of the Long Range Planning Committee is to involve constituents of Liberty Hill Independent School District and the community in evaluating the possible need for renovated and/or new facilities to support quality and equitable educational programs.
The committee is made up of diverse members of the community, including parents, staff, community leaders, and residents, both new to Liberty Hill and those who have lived in the district for decades.
The committee analyzes current enrollment, school capacities, and demographic projections; studies the state’s school funding process and district financial data; tours campuses, evaluates future facility needs, and prioritizes projects. Following months of review, discussion, and consideration, the committee presents its recommendations to the LHISD Board of Trustees.
Liberty Hill ISD has formed a Long Range Planning Committee for the 2025-2026 school year. The group will meet from 6-8 p.m. four times this school year. The dates include:

January 14, 2026 - Liberty Hill Middle School

Includes recommended solutions for new facilities needed to accommodate student population growth
Are based on current relevant data and best practices

Parameters of the LRPC
The LRPC will be comprised of individuals from the community who represent the diversity and complex interest within LHISD and will be aided by district staff members serving as information providers for the committee.
Significant recommendations for bringing equity to existing facilities and/or building new facilities will require a source of funding that is only available with a voter-supported bond issue.
If a bond election is recommended by the LRPC, it should emphasize cost-effective recommended solutions.
The LRPC’s recommendation(s) should address immediate and future facility needs of the school district to the extent members feel are financially prudent.
The LRPC will have access to data and resources provided by Liberty Hill ISD to develop appropriate facility recommendations.
The LRPC recognizes that the committee’s role is to provide recommendations to the Board of Trustees of Liberty Hill ISD and that the Board of Trustees will determine the structure and content of any potential bond issue.
The Superintendent agrees to communicate the LRPC progress and provide regular updates to the Board of Trustees and community stakeholders.
